Nearsighted and Farsighted Vision Worsen With Corrective Lenses (Eyeglasses)

The vision program from the American Vision Institute provides eye exercises to significantly improve, if not correct, nearsighted and farsighted vision. The Vision Program is written by three doctors: Dr. Merrill J. Allen, O.D., Ph.D., Dr Francis A. Young, Ph.D., and the founder of the American Vision Institute, Dr. Steven M. Beresford, Ph.D.

According to the doctors, there is no proof at all that genetically deformed eyeballs are the cause of common visual problems and no studies have proven corrective lenses are safe and effective long-term. In fact vision becomes worse for most people who wear corrective lenses. The corrective lens treats blurred vision symptoms by refocusing light before the eye receives the light. The corrective lens does nothing about the actual cause of blurred vision. The most common cause of vision problems is eye strain – numerous hours focusing for the same distance. This adversely affects focusing muscles, causing the eyeball to lose shape, which changes the focusing ability of the eye.

The doctors are very candid on the business of eye care, “Traditional eye care is based on the theory that visual problems are usually inherited and nothing can be done except to prescribe an endless supply of corrective lenses as the patient deteriorates, which of course ensures a steady stream of repeat business. Not surprisingly, many traditional eye doctors are hostile toward eye exercises and some even try to discourage their patients from improving their vision.”

They encourage all to learn about taking care of their eyes with eye exercises, “The American Vision Institute was established in 1979 and is privately funded, so we’re not trying to sell you anything. All we ask is that you spread the word by telling your friends and coworkers.”

To get started on the exercises click this link. Up until recently the program was free, now it’s $27.

Here’s an interesting eye exercise from another website.

I saw my doctor the other day, “Doctor, I feel terrible. Every morning when I get up and look in the mirror I feel like throwing up. What’s wrong with me?” He said “I don’t know but your eyesight is perfect.” -Rodney Dangerfield
