MEDICAL ERRORS CAUSE OVER 100,000 DEATHS EACH YEAR - MORE THAN STROKE, DIABETES, AND AUTO ACCIDENTS
Clostridium difficile is a harmful bacteria in the large intestine and kept in check by good bacteria. Antibiotics kill off many of the good bacteria allowing C. difficile to increase in number and spread, causing potentially fatal diarrhea and colitis. Antibiotics kill many kinds of bacteria but have no effect on viruses, yet doctors often prescribe antibiotics for viral infections and cause C. difficile infection. Just the tip of the iceberg of what’s going on in hospitals.
